Hosting this Christmas? Create extra space in your home

Christmas is fast approaching and for those that are hosting the annual family get together, making your home a spacious and inviting place to celebrate is high on the priority list.

Declutter
Tidying away unnecessary items such as shoes by the front door and piles of post around the house will make all the difference when it comes to opening up the space in your home and making it feel like a more spacious and welcoming environment.

Rearrange your furniture
You'd be surprised how much space that extra armchair in the living room takes up! To make space for extra guests, why not move unnecessary furniture into the garage and add some beanbags and stools for a more space-maximising seating solution.

Consider bi-fold doors
Adding extra light and a view of your garden is a great way to create a sense of spaciousness to your home. With bi-fold doors that open seamlessly into your garden area, your home will have never appeared bigger!

Decorate wisely
When Christmas time comes it can be tempting to go overboard on the decorations, covering every surface with tinsel and choosing the biggest tree possible. However, if you're concerned about space, keeping your decorations to a minimum could be your best option. Why not choose a smaller tree this year, but place it on top of an existing surface such as a table or corner unit? If you can't live without those extra decorations, opting for ceiling ones is a great way to make the most of your available space.
