What is Double Glazing?
Double glazed units consist of two sheets of glass with a gap in between, usually 16mm, which creates an insulating barrier to keep heat in. This gap can be made even more efficient with the aid of argon gas, which all our units have as standard. Undoubtedly the most energy efficient type of double glazing is low emissivity (Low-E) glass. This usually has an invisible layer of metal oxide, traditionally on one of the internal panes. The point of this is to let in light and heat but to limit how much heat can escape. Again, all our units are Low-E as standard.

Double glazed windows offer a number of benefits to your home. Depending on the current state of your existing windows, double glazing is usually a great option for anyone looking to reduce their energy bills. Double glazing is also recommended to those looking for a noise reduction, or if you currently have any broken down units that suffer from regular condensation. However, sometimes the problem can lie elsewhere. If the frames of your windows themselves are old, damaged, or have seen better days then the problem may call for replacement windows instead of just the glass. Our surveyors can identify the issue you wish to rectify and can inform you of the best course of action to resolve the issues you’re experiencing.
All our units come with a 10-year guarantee, something we pride ourselves greatly on especially as most companies can only offer a 5-year guarantee.
